Tamarind exists to expand the neighborhood of GOD’s Kingdom
Tamarind Avenue is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian church in Compton, California. We are Christ-Centered, Bible-inspired, Love-driven, and Community-focused.
We aim to continue Christ’s commission by spreading the GOOD NEWS and making disciples.
We passionately practice GOD’s greatest commands, to love the Lord our GOD with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are all citizens of the Kingdom and neighbors in the neighborhood.
We want to be the best neighbors we can be. We are not the neighbor who stays in the house judgmentally peeking through the windows. We are the neighbor who seeks to serve, happily helps, craves to connect, and lives to love. Empowered by GOD’s Spirit, we strive to be THAT Neighbor

Pastor Donovan Childs joined our church family in 2026 and has a heart for biblical teaching, authentic community, and helping people grow in their walk with Christ. He is passionate about serving Compton and creating a welcoming church where everyone can belong and thrive.
