The Mission:

Tamarind exists to expand the neighborhood of GOD’s Kingdom

The Neighborhood &  Being “That Neighbor”.

Tamarind Avenue bases its mission on the greatest and second-greatest commandments of GOD found in Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 12:28-31, and the Good Samaritan parable found in Luke 10:25-37.

We aim to live these principles locally, starting at home and expanding from there. In our contemporary context, citizens of GOD’s Kingdom are neighbors in the neighborhood, and we believe that the principles of GOD’s Kingdom are the same principles that guide us to be good neighbors.

Neighborhood Values

The Word

We commit to following and spreading The Word in all its revelation. The Word is GOD’s inspired, written witness and guide in scripture, and most importantly, it is the living revelation of Jesus Christ. ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17 // John 1:1,14)

Prayer - In active faith, we reach for GOD. We ask for help from GOD’s power, we seek guidance in GOD’s wisdom, we find security in GOD’s presence, and salvation in GOD’s goodness. (Matthew 7:7 // Hebrews 11:6)

Support - We will show up for each other like GOD shows up for us. As GOD’s family, we journey this life together.  (Galatians 6:2 // 1 John 4:11)

Accessibility - We will make ourselves available. We will be open and honest with GOD and each other.

Inclusion - We know for a fact that no matter who you are, you are a child of GOD. You have value. You matter. You are respected. You are loved. We promise to welcome you with open arms and love you as GOD does.  (Jeremiah 31:3 // 1 John 4:7-12)

Energetic Engagement - We don’t play about GOD or each other. We’re on fire for the gospel, we love fiercely, we celebrate in salvation, and we’re not afraid to show it.

Service - We are the hands and feet of Christ. We are called to continue His mission. We will use everything GOD gives us to serve our family within these walls and our neighbors beyond these walls.
